We are closing in on the start of the first ever Elliebelly knit along, which will begin on Saturday, August 13.
If you haven't already, pick out a pattern! This is a free style knit along — you knit the pattern of your choice using any Elliebelly yarn. Along the way, we'll have fun, prizes, and knitting support. I'm looking forward to featuring everyone's knitting on the blog so we can all see each other's works in progress. What a great way to get some late-summer-anticipating-fall-knitting started!
Still wishing you had some Elliebelly in your stash? Here's a bit to help out. A quick giveaway to give faithful blog readers a quick chance. This is two skeins of Elliebelly's Classic Merlin Merino in "Fire Dragon." Merlin is a 3-ply merino and there are about 560 yards in the 8 ounces up for grabs here. Post in the comments, telling me what you will use this yarn to knit in the knit along and I'll pick a winner Sunday night, so get your posts in quickly!
I would make Echo Flower Shawl by Jenny Johnson Johnen. I added the Ravelry link so you can see how gorgeous it is and how perfect this yarn would be for it!

Oh! I’d jump at the chance to make a Sugared Violets. It would be lovely in this colorway.

I have been trying to decide what to make my friend who is due with her 6th (boy). I think that with that yarn ( orange is her favorite color) I would make her this

Thus s so yummy! I would make a belle romper http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-belle-romper a capri version.
Oh how gorgeous. I’m still stuck on wanting to knit this pattern and I think it would look gorgeous with it

I would make the Cascade cardi for my 3yo DD. I would knit it with 3/4 sleeves. I would be uber cute.

My sister is due in December and I’ve been knitting a little of this’n that for her so far. I think I’d knit the Offset Wraplan with this GORGEOUS yarn of yours – and I’d knit a matching hat too.
Thanks for the chance at some seriously beautiful yarn.
I would make this: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/89-13-b—girls-shrug-in-paris
for my 12yo daughter. Love the colors!
Mmm, gorgeous yarn!!!! I would make something pretty simple to let these beautiful colors bloom! A simple sawl like this one: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/threebagsfulled/jj-scarflette or a Lacy Baktus. Thanks for the chance to win, it’s a great giveaway!
I love fall, love the colors and the leaves, love the smell and the crisp air. That yarn reminds me of fall and would look gorgeous knit into this..

I love the heat in that colorway! I’d use it in a sweater similar to the The Dude Cardigan, but I’d change the design from a butterfly to a Firebird! Also change the main color to something that really let these colors POP!

I am in a knitting shawls phase right now.
So pretty! I’d make a few coordinating items. 🙂

I think I would make this….I LOVE the colors. Although it could be another shawl…or some socks!
I would knit a shawl with that yarn. It is such a beautiful color.

My very first pair of longies for my oldest son were knit with your merlin merino in your Patriot colorway and I just loved the drape and look of the merlin merino….and thus a long love affair with hand-dyed wool yarn began…..
I would love to try this pattern for myself http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/abalone-4 (I am petit with a short torso so there should be enough yardage)
But realistically I find it hard to squeeze in projects for me. Its getting close to fall and I have no longies for my little one yet. I would love to make a pair of overalls. I have been dying to try this pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/silly-lil-linen-stitch-overalls
or maybe this: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/design-c—cardigans-and-jacket
I don’t think you could go wrong with this yarn, its gorgeous!
I have two patterns in mind http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stella-luna
and of course the one I really want to try out!

Those colors are GORGEOUS! So my colors. I have had this pattern faved for ages, and would make these: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/textures-scarf-and-hat
and I would give away some of my own Elliebelly stash to someone with none if I win!
A three-fold plan:
1) some wanton yarn fondling of my first Elliebelly acquisition
2) once the yarn has spoken, I’m thinking this for my niece: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bloom-9
3) with the matching doll dress for my son’s doll, who has been in a state of semi-undress for over a year and would probably appreciate a little yarny modesty
The colors are perfect for my 9 year old daughter. I would knit her a sweater. I would probably choose: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/handspun-pinafore
If I had leftovers I would use them for a hat. She loves to wear hats and the orange is perfect for her.
gorgeous yarn. Ive been searching for the perfect yarn for a Far Away So Close shawl for one of my closest friends who lost her toddler to a drowning accident. I think this would be lovely in that pattern.
Beautiful yarn! I am looking forward to the Elliebelly knit along.
I’d love to make a sleeveless shirt out of this!
I would love to make a cabled vest with this for my son! If I had leftovers mittens for myself would be in order, also. 🙂
Love the color~!
I’d use it in a sweater for my baby
Oh my gosh!! That is such a beautiful colorway! I absolutely love it. It would be perfect to make either the “cliffs of insanity” (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cliffs-of-insanity) or
I have been wanting to make this one for a while: The Dane Shawl (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dane-shawl)
Thanks!
I would knit up http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ruffled-summer-top for my daughter – i think this yarn would make a fun sweater for her!
I’m thrilled to say that I’m learning. I’ve knit one soaker in my life, and I felt so proud. I would love to knit my little girl a maxi top/dress. She’s going to turn one on September 8th. The toddler years are creeping up quickly, and I can imagine this little number on her once she’s toddling around.

So pretty ! Think I’d try Knitwise-Cracker’s First Shawl by Knitwise Cracker on Rav.
